Fall update

Hello, all -- it's ProfMeow with your periodic SudokuCon progress report!

Our story so far: SudokuCon is a gathering for setters, solvers, and connoisseurs of sudoku, logic puzzles, pencil puzzles, word puzzles, and pretty much any other kind of puzzle, to be held Thursday 3 April through Sunday 6 April, 2025, at the Hilton Boston Dedham hotel, just outside Boston, MA. Basic information is on our web site, https://sudokucon.com/, and our accounts on all the obvious media platforms including YouTube and Twitch. Tell your friends!

Right now, we're gearing up for our next 24-hour livestream, which will start on Saturday 23 November, 5:30 PM US Eastern time, 2:30 US Pacific, 11:30 PM Central European, on our Twitch channel. Just like in last year's livestream, you'll get to watch setters and solvers doing what they do best.

And along with the livestream we'll open up ticket sales for SudokuCon, at a special early bird rate of $100/ticket. Don't forget to book your hotel room: you can use this link: https://www.hilton.com/en/book/reservation/deeplink/?ctyhocn=DDHDHHF&groupCode=SUDOKU&arrivaldate=2025-04-03&departuredate=2025-04-06&cid=OM,WW,HILTONLINK,EN,DirectLink&fromId=HILTONLINKDIRECT — or just use code SUDOKU on the hotel’s main site, linked from our home page.

We'll also be announcing a preliminary roster of presenters for SudokuCon. Just to whet your appetite, here's a hint about one person who'll be leading a workshop:

The November fundraiser has two primary goals. First, we'd like to increase our technical budget -- for instance, to upgrade from renting equipment to buying it, so we'll have it for future years. Second, we'd like to raise enough funds to defray the costs of attendance for presenters, volunteers, and online attendees/stream viewers.

We are also thinking ahead to SudokuCon 2026. We'd like to hold it somewhere in Europe, perhaps in June or July. If you would like to be part of the local arrangements group, let us know.

Finally, there were a few people who made very generous donations during the Caterdokupillar livestream, but didn't give us contact information for your prize puzzles. Thank you for donating, and let us know your email address or Discord name.

As always, you can reach us at [email protected], or join our Discord server at https://discord.gg/WGqaazd7Yb

And as your reward for reading this, here's a puzzle to amuse you. The killer cages are meant to remind you of the bricks set in the sidewalk to mark the Freedom Trail, a self-guided walking tour of Colonial and Revolutionary sites in Boston.

See you at the November livestream!
